Peshawar, May 28 : In Peshawar, matchboxes advertise reward of 5 mln dlrs for Osama bin Laden captureAmid indications from Washington that moves to trace Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden have been heightened, matchboxes carrying the most wanted fugitive’s picture are in circulation in Peshawar advertising huge rewards from the US government in return for information about him.

A text written in Urdu says that the US government would pay up to 5 million dollars for any information leading to Laden’s arrest in any country or help prove the charges leveled against him.

“Contact the nearest US embassy or consulate, if you have any information about Osama Bin Laden,” says the text written in Urdu on one side of the matchbox containing
30 sticks, reported the Daily Times.

Postal and email addresses for sharing of information with the US government have also been given on the other side of the matchbox, which also mentions the web-site www. heroes. net for further information, added the paper.

The inside text states Bin Laden is wanted by the US government on charges of killing 220 innocent citizens in Kenya and Tanzania on August 7, 1998.

The statement says the informer’s name will be kept secret, and ‘possible’ relocation to another place.

Earlier, leaflets were distributed in the Tribal Areas and t-shirts carrying Bin Laden’s photos were also introduced in Peshawar to encourage people to provide information about the Al Qaeda chief. (ANI)
