Stephanie RiceMelbourne, November 15 : Triple Olympic champion Stephanie Rice has won Queensland''s top award for sportswomen.

She won the award from five finalists, namely Olympic champions Libby Trickett and Emma Snowsill, Games silver medallists Sally McLellan and Anna Meares and Australian surf life-saving team captain Kristy Munroe.

The Mazda-Courier-Mail Queensland Sportswoman of the Year presentation took place at a Brisbane hotel.

The ace swimmer, who won three gold medals at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, revealed that she was eager to hit the pool again and concentrate on winning more medals.

The 20-year-old admitted that she was “looking forward to that whole side of things calming down and what I love doing (swimming) to become the focus again.”

"I''m disappointed they''re not here. It would have been nice certainly for all the fans to see them," the Herald Sun quoted him as saying.

"It is a little bit disappointing, but we can''t hold them to ransom over it," he added.
