Kathmandu - Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav has asked the Maoists, as the biggest party in the constituent assembly, to form the new government, official reports said Wednesday.
A statement issued by the president's office asked the Maoists to forge a political consensus for formation of the government and appointment of a prime minister, the official Rastriya Samachar Samiti news agency said.
Kathmandu, July 28 : Nepal’s President Dr Ram Baran Yadav in his first address to the nation on Sunday evening, called for national unity and solidarity to maintain communal harmony.
According to Nepalnews, Dr. Yadav said he would remain committed to the principles of ethnic or communal harmony and national integrity.
He added that he would coordinate different group for strengthening national unity in order to bring the peace process to fruition, and draft the new constitution within the stipulated time.
Kathmandu, July 25 : Nepal President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has begun consultations with legal experts in a move to call on political parties to form a new Government in Nepal.
According to Kantipur, President Yadav met Attorney General Yagya Murti Banjade, senior advocate Sindhu Nath Pyakurel and lawyers Harihar Dahal, Badri Bahadur Karki, Shambhu Thapa and Surya Dhungel at his office on Thursday.
During the meeting, the lawyers suggested that the President should ask political parties to forge a consensus on forming the new Government under Article 38 (1) of the Interim Constitution.
Kathmandu, July 23 : Nepal newly elected President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Vice President Paramananda Jha were sworn in amid a grand ceremony at Shital Niwas here today.
According to Nepalnews, Chief Justice of Nepal Kedar Prasad Giri administered oath of office and secrecy to President Yadav.
The President was given military honour after he was sworn in.
Following the swearing ceremony, Yadav assumed his office as the President of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
