New York, Sept 15 : Padma Lakshmi was paid1, 000 dollars by the audience to get off the stage at The Moth's storytelling event at Cooper Union on Tuesday night.

A spy told the New York Post that the "Top Chef" star was so "grating" as a host that a guest in the front row stood up and pledged to give the non-profit Moth 1,000 dollars if she left - and she did.

"She was rambling," the source said.

40-year-old Padma Lakshmi, the prominent model of Indian bloodline, who has converted herself into a TV host now, is purportedly facing a custody battle from the Dad of her 11-month-old baby girl, Krishna Thea, with the father being the venture entrepreneur, Adam Dell, who is the brother of the powerful computer mogul, Michael Dell. As per TMZ, Adam has launched documents in a courthouse in New York to garner the visitation rights to witness Krishna.

Indian-born TV chef Padma Lakshmi has become a proud mother of a baby girl named Krishna Thea Lakshmi.

According to the reports, both mom and baby are fine and glad.

Author Salman Rushdie's ex-wife had branded the gestation a "medical wonder" after years of struggling with adenomyosis, in which the uterus lining grows in other body regions.

A spokesperson for the Padma Lakshmi confirmed that the beauty delivered a healthy baby girl on Saturday in New York.

New York, November 30 : Padma Lakshmi has declared her love for the naked form, saying: "I like me better naked."

The pregnant ‘Top Chef’ host, who refuses to reveal the father, insists upon the purity of the natural form.

"I don''t mean that in a vain way . . . When you put clothes on, you immediately put a character on,” the New York Post quoted her as saying.

New York, Oct 20 : Renowned author Salman Rushdie is still not over his former wife Padma Laxmi, according to his ex-girlfriend.

According to statuesque actress Pia Glenn, Rushdie talks about Laxmi day and night.

"He would talk about Padma day and night. He felt hurt and betrayed by her. He would talk about her so much I''d ask him to stop,” New York Post quoted him as telling Britain’s Mail.

Glenn said she fell in love with the 62-year-old novelist, who "said he loved me."

New York, Oct 8 : Pregnant Padma Lakshmi has donated many of her designer pre-baby clothes to charity.

The Indian American cookbook author and former model has given away a stack of her clothes, which included Stella McCartney blouses and Roland Mouret dresses, reports The New York Post.

Lakshmi’s clothes were up for grabs at Kiki de Montparnasse in SoHo, where Hollywood-based consignment shop Decades Two was running a pop-up store for charity over the weekend.

Washington, October 7 : Pregnant Padma Lakshmi has revealed that she butters her growing belly to ease the itch.

The ‘Top Chef’ host spoke to champion Reebok''s line of Pink Ribbon products, that helps raise funds to battle breast cancer.

"One thing that happens when you''re pregnant is that as your stomach starts to stretch [and] it itches! So I have to keep my belly really lubricated," People magazine quoted her as saying.

New York, April 17 : Indian American cookbook author Padma Lakshmi is battling endometriosis, an painful condition which is one of the top three causes of female infertility.

"(It''s) a silent epidemic," the New York Post quoted her as saying.

According to her, endometriosis can be treated and cured if addressed early.

She has now created the Endometriosis Foundation of America with Dr. Tamer Seckin.

The Indian American, who has stripped down to her birthday suit for Allure, revealed in an accompanying magazine interview that she’s very confident about her body and likes to sleep in the buff when she’s on her own.

"I tend to sleep in the nude. I''m an innately tactile person and a very sensual-leaning woman. You have to use the word ''leaning'' or it sounds like I''m boasting! When I''m in my own private space, I do spend time with very little on,” she told Allure.
