Bangalore/New Delhi, Sept 14 : Gujarat Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi today urged the country to unite against terrorism.

"I don''t want to blame anyone. As far as terrorism is concerned, it is my conviction that country''s voice must be united," said Modi, who is here to attend a conclave of BJP.

Modi''s remarks came in the wake of the five serial blasts that shook New Delhi on Saturday evening, killing around 30 people and injuring around 125.

Earlier, he said that his state police had informed the Centre in advance about a detailed plan of the terrorists to hit the Capital. He also attacked the UPA for being "soft" on terrorism.

New Delhi, Sep 3 : The Supreme Court has issued notices to Gujarat Government and Chief Minister Narender Modi on a petition seeking CBI inquiry into an alleged fake encounter in which a youth was killed in 2004.

The petition filed by Kerala-based M R Gopinath Pillai alleged that his son Pranesh Kumar Pillai alias Javed Shaikh was gunned down by the Gujarat police for having links with terrorist groups but even four years after the incident there was no evidence to the effect.

Surat, July 30 : As Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today visited Surat to take stock of the security situation here, another live bomb has been found in the city.

According to latest reports, the bomb has been spotted in the Baroda Prestige area in Varacha by local residents.

Modi announced a reward of Rs 51 lakh for information leading to terrorists involved in the serial blasts in Ahmedabad and planting of bombs in Surat.

He said, "We are fighting a war against terror and we will deal with it with utmost strictness."
