New Delhi, June 13 : Bollywood actress and brand ambassador of Taj Mahal Tea, Madhuri Dixit unveiled its new raga with sitar maestro Niladri Kumar at a musical high tea held in New Delhi on Thursday evening.
The evening witnessed a mesmerizing classical and fusion musical performance by Niladri Kumar , who played Taj Mahal's new Darjeeling raga for the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, Niladri expressed his happiness to be a part of Taj Mahal Tea.
New Delhi, May 15 : Madhuri Dixit's unique fan organised a small ceremony to celebrate her birthday in Jamshedpur city, Jharkhand.
Pappu Sardar, who owns a food stall, hosted a lavish party at midnight for the 47-year-old actress with cake and it started with prayers and wishes and ended with dancing. He also donated pencils, copies and books to poor children.
The entire colony was decorated with lights, ribbons and balloons and put many photographs of Dixit on display.
Mumbai, March 2 : Artists often talk about the hardships they have had to face in finding their first big break in filmdom, but 1990s diva Madhuri Dixit says she never had to struggle and the offer came to her door step.
She entered filmdom with the 1984 film "Abodh", which was made under the banner of Rajshri Productions.
"I have never struggled for anything in my life because I never thought I will be an actress. Film just walked up to my house with 'Abodh'. We met them (the makers), then my family decided that I will do just one film," Madhuri told IANS and added that her family used to run away from movies.
Mumbai, Feb 22 : Actress Madhuri Dixit is impressed by the content of Marathi films. But she isn't sure if she will ever follow in the footsteps of some Hindi movie stars and produce a film in the regional language.
"I have not seen recent Marathi films, but yes I have seen 'Natrang' (2010) and 'Jogwa' (2009) and I was impressed with the kind of films they are making," Madhuri, who comes from a Marathi-speaking family, told IANS.
"The Marathi film industry has evolved over the years. As far as producing Marathi films are concerned, I have not thought about it," she added.
Kolkata, Feb 21 : Actress Madhuri Dixit, who plays an empowered woman in her forthcoming "Gulaab Gang", believes that in order to ensure women's safety, the government should form policies that are in sync with time.
Responding to questions from the media here Friday while talking about her character Rajjo, a "crusader and empowered woman", Madhuri also batted for educating men.

Mumbai, Dec 19 : It's true that Madhuri Dixit took a break from acting following her marriage in 1999, but the dancing diva is back and how! She says it's a myth that married women don't get roles in the film industry.
"I think married women always got roles. Sharmilaji (Sharmila Tagore) worked after marriage, Meena Kumari also worked and Rakhi worked after marriage. These are just myths and not true all the time," Madhuri said here in an interaction.
Mumbai, Dec 15 : Actress Madhuri Dixit, who will be seen on the big screen after 2007 film "Aaja Nachle", says she chose to be part of "Dedh Ishqiya" because she has faith in the makers of the film - Vishal Bhardwaj and Abhishek Chaubey.
After the success of 2010 movie "Ishqiya", director Chaubey teamed up with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, who has produced "Dedh Ishqiya".
Mumbai, Dec 14 : Actress Madhuri Dixit, busy promoting her forthcoming women-centric drama "Dedh Ishqiya", admits that the world is male dominated and it's up to a woman how she makes a mark for herself.
"The whole world is male dominated, not just this industry," she said when asked whether the option gets narrowed down for an actress post-marriage and does she feel that the film industry is male dominated.
Mumbai, Dec 10 : Actress Madhuri Dixit, who plays Begum Para, an attractive yet dangerous woman in "Dedh Ishqiya", says the various facets of the character attracted her the most.

Mumbai, Nov 25 : Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit is excited about the Remo D'Souza choreographed song in her much awaited movie "Dedh Ishqiya" and says that the dance director tried something different in it.
"There are two dance numbers in the film and both the songs are sung by Rekha Bhardwaj. Birju Maharaj has choreographed one song and the other is by Remo. I am very excited about Remo's song as it's very unlike Remo style. He has done a good job," Madhuri told reporters Monday at a "Dedh Ishqiya" event here.

The first look trailer of the film, featuring Madhuri, Naseeruddin Shah, Huma Qureshi and Arshad Warsi, was released online Friday. In the film, Madhuri plays a dancer, Begum Para, who is an attractive dangerous woman.
New Delhi, Oct 29 : Actress Madhuri Dixit has been signed as the brand ambassador of Dabur Chyawanprash, health care product from the House of Dabur.
"With its immunity strengthening properties, Dabur Chyawanprash protects my family from common day-to-day ailments," Madhuri, who has also judged dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa", said in a statement.

Mumbai, July 9 : Between film shoots, TV shows, red carpet appearances, and her duty as a wife and mother, actress Madhuri Dixit believes she is managing her personal and professional life quite well. She motivates others to be "all in one" too.
She says this balancing act is a key trait of "modern Indian women".
"Dancer, actor, mother, wife all these roles, I have lived in one life. All in one is the mantra of the modern Indian women," the 46-year-old tweeted.
Mumbai, July 3 : Madhuri Dixit, who returned to India from the US after spending almost a decade away from Bollywood, has bagged some interesting projects and says it's important to have goals in life for success.
"There is no mantra for success. But one should always think positive, should always have some goals in life. Then there should be some discipline, which would help you reach your goals," the 46-year-old said when asked about her mantra for success.
"So there has to be something you are working towards and that helps you, you have to keep moving all the time," she added.

New Delhi, May 31 : After getting intimate with Vidya Balan in "Ishqiya", veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah shot a steamy scene with dancing diva Madhuri Dixit for its sequel "Dedh Ishqiya". Director Abhishek Chaubey says "it's not easy".
"It is not easy to shoot intimate scenes. Actors have to trust my vision, and I had to make sure I didn't let her and the other actors down," Chaubey said in a statement.
Madhuri portrays Begum Para in the film, and it is a strong character.
