Somnath (Gujarat), Oct 16 : Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has offered land to Tata Motors for its Nano project in Bihar.

He made the announcement after inaugurating a five kilometer-long Veraval-Somnath broad gauge line and the Veraval-Jabalpur Express Train.

During his short 15-minute speech at the railway station, Yadav said, "Sanand farmers are being harassed. If at all the project has to be in Gujarat it could have been at Dwarka. If you are really looking for land for the project, come to Bihar.”

With the unceasing violence taking place in Orissa and Karanataka, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes have resolved to take up the issue before the Cabinet meeting which is scheduled to take place on Friday.

The matter needs to be reviewed and some concrete measures have to be taken before it gets worse. With Prime Minister Manmohan Singh citing the attacks on Christians in the States of Orissa and Karanataka as “acts of national shame” and the issue being aggravated, reaching a solution will be given a priority at the Meeting.

Patna, Sept 5 : Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday conducts an aerial survey of flood-affected areas of Bihar.

The Minister, who hails from Bihar said that the situation is depressing and accused the Bihar Government for its sloppiness in providing relief to the flood victims.

Kathmandu, Sep 4 : Indian Union Minister for Railways Lalu Prasad Yadav visit to Nepal has been postponed on the request of the India’s foreign ministry and Indian envoy to Kathmandu.

The reasons cited the proposed visit of Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda to India in the near future.

Lalu had plans to visit the flooded areas in Sunsari to inspect the latest situation.
