“It was a compliment in some ways to have him use me. I mean, it was really almost bankrupt that he would have to resort to something — most people don''t even know who I am,” Pelosi told reporters during her weekly press conference on Friday.

More than two weeks after the vote, results showed him beating president-elect Barack Obama there by fewer than 4,000 votes.

The Missouri secretary of state's office showed 1,445,812 votes for McCain and running mate Sarah Palin, to 1,441,910 votes for national winner Obama and his running mate Joe Biden.

The state brings the final tally in the electoral college to 365 for Obama to 173 for McCain.

Both met in Obama''s transition headquarters in Chicago and were assisted by Rahm Emanuel, Obama''s incoming White House chief of staff, and South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, McCain''s close friend, Fox News reports.

According to Davis, he was particularly annoyed with James Carney and Michael Scherer.

On the "Time" magazine interview where McCain was non-responsive, leading journalists to conclude he was unhappy with his own campaign, Davis was quoted by Politico as saying: “He didn’t want to do that interview, he thought they were being jerks.”
