Mumbai, Sep 29 - John Abraham strives to excel in every character he plays and therefore restricts his work to one film a year. Though he is 38, the actor doesn't feel the need to run after films as he feels secure in his space.
Nowadays Fridays are not only about new movies, they are also about new faces and most actors are signing films after films to consolidate their position in the industry. John is however taking it easy as he wants to give his best to every project he takes up.

Bollywood's hot jodi, Bipasha Basu and John Abraham, is hitting headlines these days.
No, it's not their marriage or engagement news, which is topping the headline. It's just a question-are they still a pair or not?
The main cause is that Bips and John were often seen together on a regular basis and never hide their love from public.
Now, they have not made a public appearance for a long time, and the media started shouting about their break-up.
John Abraham and Bipasha Basu are considered to be one of the hottest and constant couple in Bollywood. But they could not avoid the gossip mills and speculations like any other Bollywood couples. In fact, the duo has been often in the news for their alleged break up, which never happened.
Today is a Friday and as we know a very important day for all Bollywood actors. But this Friday is extra special for Bollywood hunk John Abraham, not because his movie is hitting theaters, but because it is his birthday today! Yes, John Abraham turns 38 today and the country, especially the girls, have sent in their heartfelt wishes. Starting out as a model, John Abraham is perhaps one of the few model turned heroes in Bollywood who has shown great looks can be complemented with great acting skills. Though essentially a commercial actor, John Abraham has received critical acclamation too from his work in Deepa Mehta's `Water'.
Actress turned filmmaker Pooja Bhatt has delivered one of the most sexiest Bollywood movies in 2003, Jism, starring Bipasha Basu and John Abraham. A perfectly in shape model John debuted in Bollywood with this movie and became a craze among the youth. The sizzling chemistry between Basu and Abraham rocked the viewers and the film was a roaring hit.
Bollywood actors are often seen showing a keen interest of going behind the cameras. While the John Abraham starrer Jhootha Hi Sahi had hit theaters with the fans of the actor harboring a lot of expectations, the film has come across as a modified version of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, feel critics. Though the basic storyline is different, the character portrayed by John Abraham plays smart when he is over the phone speaking to his girlfriend, but gets tightlipped once when he has to face her. Does that remind us of a certain Surinder Sahni from a certain Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi?
John Abraham’s new avatar in the film Jhoota Hi Sahi has become the talk of the town almost like Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan’s six pack abs for their respective films. This time the man well-known for his well endowed and worked-out physique has broken himself down to portray the role of a geek in the film Jhoota Hi Sahi.
But no one is having any problem looking at John or missing his biceps and body, instead people are in love with this new geeky look. Even the dusky bombshell Bipasha Basu, John’s girlfriend loved his new look.
Well, speaking of reality vs. cinema in context of the roles that the actors play, the question of certain character traits do come to mind while watching them on screen.
Thus, the soon to be released Jhootha Hi Sahi starring John Abraham and Pakhi Tyrewala, has John playing a compulsive liar, who has nothing but lies to bail him out of everyday situations.
Now, the question is, does John have to lie in real life too, in order to keep his relationship with bong bombshell, Bipasha Basu going great guns?
Mumbai, Oct 18 : John Abraham has a physique that every man would love to possess, but the actor says he does not want his physical attributes to overshadow his performance, something he works equally hard at. He's happy that this trend is reversed in upcoming film "Jhoota Hi Sahi".
"My physicality takes over a lot. It just preceeds over what I do. Even if I'm doing a sweet role, there is someone who would find it hot. I'm not apolegetic about the way I look, but somewhere down the line the physicality keeps coming to the forefront," John told IANS in an interview.
John Abraham, the macho hunk of Bollywood, may have a tough exterior, but deep down within, he does own a soft heart.
This fact has literally saved the B town hunk from spending a fortnight behind bars in Mumbai, as he was granted bail yesterday the 14th of October, after he had been sentenced to a 15 day simple imprisonment by a magistrate for an accident that he was involved in, in April 2006.
Abbas Tyrewala is trying to make his next film Jhoota Hi Sahi, a big hit, which stars his wife Pakhi and John Abraham and that’s why he is working quite hard for it. John Abraham has come a long way with a lot of ‘Ashayein’ since his ‘Jism’ days (No pun intended please). After doing a spate of hardcore commercial films like ‘Dhoom’, ‘Kaal’, ‘Garam Masala’, ‘Salaam – E – Ishq’ albeit a comedy film, ‘Babul’ ‘New York’, ‘Dostana’ et al he has also dabbled with middle – of - the – road cinema like ‘Water’, ‘Paap’, ‘No Smoking’, ‘Little Zizou’, ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal’, ‘Zinda’, ‘Kabul Express’ et al.
The enormously talented Anaitha Nair who’s 24 and plays a 17-year old teminally ill girl in Aashayein seems to share an eerie bonding with John Abraham.
Like John, Anaitha is half-Malayali and half-Parsi. And out of the handful of feature films she has done so far, 3 have been with John, the latest being a role in the Hindi remake of Kaakha Kaakha which she just bagged.
