Washington, Mar. 30 : Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani has welcomed the new US anti-terrorism by saying the plan has better prospects to deliver than the previous military-focused unilateral approach.
Washington, Mar. 18 : Following fears that the United States might cut off aid and assistance to Pakistan if political instability prevails, Pakistan's Ambassador to the US, Husain Haqqani, has expressed hope that the Obama administration's help to the country would remain unaffected despite the turmoil.
"The United States support and aid should be for the Pakistani people and should remain unaffected by developments in domestic politics. We expect the relationship between Pakistan and the US to remain strong and stable," The Daily Times quoted Haqqani, as saying.
Washington, Dec. 15 : Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States, Husain Haqqani, told a community meeting here on Saturday that Pakistan must live in harmony with the rest of the world.
Haqqani claimed that the actions taken by Islamabad after the Mumbai terror attacks have been widely welcomed by all, and admitted some Pakistan-based organisations or individuals may have been involved in those attacks.
Washington, Sept. 7 : Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Hussain Haqqani has ruled out a cooling of ties between Islamabad and Washington in the wake of the recent attacks by international forces in Pakistan’s tribal regions, saying bilateral ties are resilient and would withstand the difficulties coming in the way.
Addressing the Carnegie Endowment for Peace here, Haqqani said that Pakistan expects the United States to persuade its NATO allies and Afghanistan to look upon it as a partner.
Washington, Sept 6 : Pakistan Ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani has said that Angoor Adda like actions by US forces in Pakistani territory would not be of any help to the war against terror, instead it would spark wrath and fury among the people.
“It doesn’t behoove America taking such unilateral actions especially, when no terrorist was caught,” The News quoted Haqqani as saying.
Washington, Aug 23 : Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US Husain Haqqani has said that his country expected more cooperation from the other war-on-terror stakeholders on its western border (read Afghanistan) in the post-Musharraf phase.
He also rejected the presence of any foreign troops in Pakistan fighting militants.
