Mulayam's remarks don't bother Congress: Digvijay Singh

New Delhi, March 25 : The Congress Monday said Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's remarks that the future belongs to coalition governments do not bother it. Besides, there was nothing new in it, he added.
"He has not said this for the first time. Some regional parties only follow power politics and such remarks don't bother us," Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh told reporters here.
He said the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government is only bothered about the welfare of the people.
Digvijay disappointed with charges slapped on BJP chief Gadkari

The allegations slapped on BJP chief Nitin Gadkari by India Against Corruption (AIC) activist Arvind Kejriwal were already known, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh said.
Digvijay said that Kejriwal had far more information against Gadkari but he revealed only that information which was already known to the public.
Commenting about the charges leveled by Kejriwal, Digvijay said, "I'm disappointed with the charges that Kejriwal has made because they were already in the public domain."

Bapu had mockingly called Gandhi a ''kid''.

New Delhi, Sep 2: Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh on Friday said a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe must be done into RTI activist Shehla Masood''s murder case.
"I would only said the CBI must investigate this case. It would be in interests of all," Singh told mediapersons here, when asked that the Madhya Pradesh Government has already a sent a letter to the Centre requesting for a CBI probe into the case.

Lucknow, Dec 15 : Slamming Chief Minister Mayawati for playing politics by demanding that smaller states be carved out of Uttar Pradesh, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh Tuesday said she should first complete the work she has to do before demanding their creation from the centre.
"It would have been much better if she had gone for an economic survey and passed a resolution before demanding the creation of smaller states from the centre," Singh told reporters in Basti district, some 300 km from Lucknow.

Lucknow, Oct 27 : Charging the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with stoking religious fundamentalism, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh Tuesday said using religion as a medium to spread hatred was not allowed by any faith.
Singh, who was in the city to attend a function of the Youth Congress-affiliated Anti Communal Forum, founded by Rahul Gandhi, noted that opportunists were present in every religion and they are responsible for every kind of dispute among people of the same or different religions.
No religion preaches hatred and it is wrong to term any religion or creed as terrorist, he said.

Lucknow, July 26 : Congress Party general secretary Digvijay Singh has accused the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati of playing into the hands of a few advisors and charged her with not being aware about ground realities in the state.

The visiting delegation of Congress leaders from India on Wednesday made it clear that their party is not in favour of a monarchy in Nepal.
Emerging from a meeting with senior Nepali Congress leaders, All India Congress Committee General Secretary Digvijay Singh said his party was never in favour of a monarchy.
The main opposition party in India, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been opposing the declaration of a republic by the interim parliament in Nepal.
