Chris Martin ‘plans’ to go solo

London, Nov 23 : Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is planning to launch a solo career, it has emerged.

Martin, who is married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow, has a tight schedule lined up for next year so he can bow out of Coldplay before his 33rd birthday in March 2010.

A final album is already in the pipeline for December 2009 along with a string of farewell performances.

“I’m 31 now—and I don’t think that bands should keep going past 33, so we’re trying to pack in as much as possible. We’ll go for it until the end of next year,” News of the World quoted Martin, as saying.

Martin will then focus on a solo career.

Coldplay says ‘best band’ title only due to U2, Green Day’s vacation

Chris Martin Washington, November 18 : Coldplay’s vocalist Chris Martin has revealed the reason why their band is the biggest hit in the world right now – U2 and Green Day are on vacation.

The leading man of the Brit rock band revealed the band’s crowning place would soon be taken once U2 and Green Day were set to return with their new albums in 2009.

"The reason we''re the biggest band in the world at the moment is because the others are on holiday. That''s how you get your breaks,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“While U2 and Green Day are away, we''ve gotten to make the most of it,” he added.
