New York, Jan 23 : US President Barack Obama might have caused a stir worldwide with his historic win, but his daughters Malia and Sasha are not far behind - a toy company has manufactured dolls "inspired" by the first daughters.

Ty Inc., the company that makes Beanie Babies, is marketing plush dolls named "Sweet Sasha" and "Marvelous Malia."

Washington, Jan. 23: President Barack Obama on Thursday has issued an executive order to close down the military detention facility at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. He also signed two other executive orders, one presidential directive relating to national security and one abortion policy order, all of which reversed Bush administration policy.

Washington, Jan 23 : Richard Holbrooke, US President Barack Obama special envoy for the Afghanistan-Pakistan region, has said that the situation in Pakistan is very complex.

Obama chose Holbrooke, a former ambassador to the United Nations, as his special envoy for Afghanistan, Pakistan and related issues, The Nation reported.

Washington  - US President Barack Obama signed an executive order on Thursday to close the controversial prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba within a year.

The order sets into motion a review of the cases of all the remaining 245 detainees at the facility and an evaluation of ways to relocate them. That could involve repatriating them to their home nations or to a third country.

San Francisco  - US President Barack Obama is to get an ultra-secure smartphone so that he can keep up with emails on the go, according to a report Thursday in Atlantic magazine.

Obama has been an avid user of a Blackberry RIM for years, but security concerns meant that he could not keep a standard smartphone as president for fear that his communications would be hacked or his whereabouts revealed.
