New Delhi, Feb. 3 : The Barack Obama''s team is planning to develop a new, coherent US policy to deal with North Korea and its nuclear issues, Dr. Ralph A. Cossa, a US foreign policy expert and founding member of the Steering Committee of the multinational Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSAP), said here today at a seminar organised by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF).

Washington, Feb 3 : Teri Hatcher has said that US President Barack Obama owes her an autograph, which he promised her when she gave up a night with her daughter to attend a fundraiser for him.

It was last year that the actress met the Democrat at a fundraiser in Los Angeles and impressed him with the fact she had sacrificed a night with her daughter, Emerson, to be at the bash.

Washington, Feb 3 : US President Barack Obama has said his administration wants to make sure that Afghanistan is not a safe haven for al-Qaeda and the insurgency-hit country does not destabilise its nuclear-armed neighbour Pakistan.

Obama told NBC in an interview that his administration is for having clear objectives in Afghanistan and wants to fix the drift that occurred there over the last two years.

"We are not gonna be able to rebuild Afghanistan into a Jeffersonian democracy," Obama said.

Washington, Feb. 3 : President Barack Obama signed eight executive orders in his first 11 days in office, making him by far the most activist new president in modern American history.

"I''''m getting good at this," Obama joked to labor union leaders and members of Congress as he sat down to sign orders six, seven and eight on Friday.

Before Obama, the fastest to reach eight executive orders in modern times was President Kennedy, for whom No. 8 came on Feb. 21, 32 days into his presidency - or nearly three times as long as it took Obama.

Washington, Feb 3: A comment that U. S. President Barack Obama had made about Jessica Simpson in an interview with Matt Lauer has left many wondering whether he called her fat.

During the interview, Obama was shown a copy of US Magazine, and told that the editors had cut him out of the cover photo with his wife and daughters to make room for Simpson.

In the upper right-hand corner of the cover was a photo of a curvier Simpson, and the headline: "Weight Battle."

When Lauer pointed it out to him, he joked that it was painful and added the headline to his statement.

However, it did not sit well with the ladies, and they thought the new president was quite insensitive.
