Washington, Nov 23 : Wife of former US president Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is learnt to have accepted the post of Secretary of State offered to her by President-elect Barack Obama.

According to a report in foxnews. com, a formal announcement in this regard is planned for after Thanksgiving, which falls on November 27.

Clinton is said to have made her decision to accept quite recently, after persistent courting by Obama and his transition team, the Daily Times quoted the report as saying.

Washington - US president-elect Barack Obama said in a radio address Saturday that he would sign an economic recovery plan soon after taking office, to create
2.5 million jobs by January 2011.

"We'll put people back to work rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges, modernizing schools that are failing our children, and building wind farms and solar panels, fuel-efficient cars and the alternative energy technologies that can free us from our dependence on foreign oil and keep our economy competitive in the years ahead," Obama said in the Democratic Party's traditional radio address.

According to the New York Times, Chicago has used its highest-profile cheerleader who spoke via video on the issue to European Olympic committees at a meeting in Istanbul.

“The United States would be honored to have the opportunity to host the Games and serve the Olympic movement,” Obama said in the video.

“As president-elect, I see the Olympic and Paralympic Games as an opportunity for our nation to reach out, welcome the world to our shores and strengthen our friendships across the globe,” he added.

New York, Nov. 22 : To ensure that his wife, Hillary gets accepted as the next Secretary of State, former US President Bill Clinton has agreed to have his speeches and itinerary vetted by the Obama transition team.

Obama''s formal announcement is due after Thanksgiving, sources have said.

Washington  , November 22 : Verizon Wireless, the second largest wireless telecommunications network in the US, has said that its employees who accessed Barack Obama''s personal cellular phone account without authorisation have neither heard the U. S. President-elect’s voice mails nor viewed his e-mails.

A spokesman on the transition team said that the company had found earlier this week that several employees had breached the personal cellphone account of the president-elect.
