Senior citizens piqued by tough rules for Obama’s swearing in ceremony

Barack ObamaWashington, Dec 22 : Some of the senior citizens will not be able to watch US President-elect Barack Obama's swearing-in ceremony in person due to prohibitions on strollers near the Capitol.

Tough rules have been instituted for individuals wanting to attend Obama's inauguration, forcing some to rethink their plans to come to the Washington D. C. on January 20 for the historic oath of office of the nation's first Black president, FOX News reported.

"OK guys, come on," Politico. com quoted him as saying, as he looked toward photographers before a Sunday afternoon round of golf.

"How many shots do you need?" he said.

According to reports, Obama played 18 holes with three others at Olomana Golf Links near his Kailua vacation home on his native island of Oahu.

An onlooker noticing Obama's game through a fence said: "He''s a lefty!"

London, Dec 21: U. S. President-elect Barack Obama, Britain's Prince Harry, French first lady Carla Bruni have made it to a new list of `The Heroes of 2008'.

The list was compiled by the Telegraph.

Olympic golden boy Michael Phelps joined the list too.

Tina Fey, famous for her impersonation of Alaska governor Sarah Palin on `Saturday Night Live', was also included in the list.

BBC former chief political correspondent John Sergeant, and Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, also featured in the list.

The team will be led by John Holdren as assistant to the president for science and technology and the director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
