San Francisco  - Actor Ashton Kutcher has won the great Twitter popularity contest, becoming the first contributor to the cult microblogging site to amass one million followers.

Kutcher passed the milestone early Friday morning, just half an hour before CNN reached the same mark. The two leading Twitter contributors had been in a race to pass the 1-million mark, with the winner donating 10,000 mosquito bed nets to charity for World Malaria Day later this month.

Kutcher celebrated the victory in an online video feed with his actress wife Demi Moore.

London, Apr 17: Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher has become the first user to have more than one million followers on Twitter.

The hunky star pipped CNN to claim the landmark victory on the microblogging site.

CNN conceded defeat on Friday after a competition which Kutcher said highlighted how social networking websites were transforming the media.

Early on Friday morning UK time, Kutcher''s aplusk feed went over the million mark, reports The Telegraph.

CNN''s Breaking News feed also passed the milestone about half an hour later.

Washington, Apr 9 : Hollywood actress Ashton Kutcher was left in pain after he got his chest waxed for a strip scene in his forthcoming flick.

Though the `Just Married' actor was in no mood to get his chest hair removed, he was forced to do that because his body double in the flick was hairless.

After realizing that the scene would look bizarre if he appeared both with hair and without hair, he went ahead with the waxing.

Kutcher even filmed his agonizing waxing session for his website FunnyOrDie. com.

While the couple was on Parrot Cay, in the Turks and Caicos Islands to attend Moore''s ex-husband Bruce Willis'' wedding to model Emma Heming, Kutcher was upto his mischievous tricks.

He mischievously took a picture of the ‘Ghost’ actress bending over while wearing a bikini, and later posted it on social networking site Twitter. com.

London, Mar 2 : American actor Ashton Kutcher has paid tribute to late Paul Harvey, crediting the radio broadcaster on his MySpace page with having taught him how to tell a story.

Harvey, whose programmes aired in the U. S. for more than 60 years, died on February 28 at the age of 90.

Kutcher, 31, says that he grew up listening to Harvey’s on-air commentaries.

Washington, Feb 18 : Actor Ashton Kutcher is in final negotiations to star in football-themed film Traded.

The plot of the comedy film revolves around a superstar NFL quarterback and a 12-year-old middle school geek who magically trade bodies, and then quickly learn valuable lessons about humility and courage, reports the Variety.

The script has been written by David Stem and David Weiss of "They Came From Upstairs," fame.
