Indian Health Minister, Anbumani Ramadoss passed a controversial statement by Ramadoss: Ban On Homosexuality Must Be Lifted To Fight AIDS     saying that the fight against AIDS will be significantly advanced when homosexuality is legalized in the country.

The minister feels that the fight against the deadly virus could be advanced if the government doesn’t consider homosexuality as a crime and encourage gays and lesbians to come out of the closet.

Presently, under section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, having sex with the same gender is a criminal act as it is “against the order of the nature.”

Finally, Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss breathe a sigh of ‘relief’ as I’ll Quit Smoking In The Next Two Months, Says Shahrukh KhanKing Khan has decided to give up smoking in a few months as his kids hate the deadly habit.

In an interview to the Malayalam daily, Malayalam Manorma, Shahrukh said, “I am planning to quit smoking for the sake of my children, who hate to see me smoke.”

“It is a blessing in disguise and I will quit smoking in the next two months,” he added.

Shahrukh’s smoking habit had become a kind of conflict between him and the Health Minister.

New Delhi, July 22 : Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss reiterates commitment for tobacco free IndiaUnion Health Minister Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss today reiterated that India should not only be smoke free, but it should be comprehensively tobacco free.

Addressing a gathering of students at Delhi University, Dr. Ramadoss praised the Delhi University Student Union initiative of smoke free campus and promised that a very soon a smoking cessation centre will be operationalised in the campus.

DUSU is organising the programme in the light of new academic session as the campaign aims to bring the movement of smoke free campus to the freshers.

The Delhi University was declared ‘No Smoking Zone’ on February 14 in a function inaugurated by Union Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar.

Patna, July 11 : Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will review the progress of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in Bihar today.

Dr. Ramadoss is visiting Bihar in connection with a function to celebrate World Population Day.

Bihar is one of the 18 high focus States to be covered under NRHM. Before NRHM, Bihar was part of Empowered Action Group (EAG) States.

Under NRHM, a manifold increase in the allocation for the health sector in Bihar has taken place.

The State has shown significant improvement in outpatient load in government facilities, sterilization cases, immunization and institutional delivery.
