Penn Jillette lost 105-lbs without Magic
American magician and juggler Penn Jillette has lost about 105-lbs, according to report by Jill Nicolini of CBS2. Jillette has been looking slim without the help of any magic trick. While talking to People Magazine, Jillette said that he went to 225-lbs from 330-lbs after suffering from hypertension that almost put him in the hospital.
While talking about Penn, Emily Longeretta, Senior Entertainment Editor at Hollywoodlife. com, said, "When Penn went to the doctor he was taking six pills a day for high blood pressure, and it was always a struggle for him and they said if he lost about 100-lbs he may never have to take those pills again".
According to reports, the driving factor behind Jillette's weight loss was that the famous illusionist did not want to take medicines, so he started an extreme low-calorie diet. Dr. Keith Ayoob from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine said that the illusionist followed an extreme low-calorie diet, but the type of diet is not safe for everyone.
Ayoob further stated that Jillette has lost a lot of weight very quickly but the concern is that it is not always sustainable when a person lost weight. Jillette has also lost a lot of muscle, Ayoob added. Extreme low-calorie diet is not the best way to lose weight as such diets do not give an individual enough protein, according to Ayoob.
As per the reports, from December 2014 to until March, Jillette followed a strict diet that includes fruits, vegetables, and beans. Jillette said that sometimes he chose to skip breakfast. He also said that the one disadvantage to losing the weight is that he had to get new suits for himself. Jillette said that he has planned to continue to eat vegan.
