Pending new govt formation, Musharraf undecided about attending OIC summit

Islamabad, Mar 5: President Pervez MusharrafEven as Pakistan is passing through political upheavals in the post-political scenario, the country’s President Pervez Musharraf is learnt to have not yet decided about leaving the country for Senegal to attend the two-day Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) summit, from March 13.

The President was still contemplating whether it would be a wise idea to leave the country in the current political situation, the Dawn quoted official sources as saying.

Presidential spokesman Maj-Gen (Retd.) Rashid Qureshi said a decision would be taken in a couple of days.

Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Sadiq also said it had not yet been decided if the president would be representing Pakistan at the Summit.

In case Musharraf decides to skip the summit, Caretaker Foreign Minister Inamul Haq is most likely to represent Pakistan at the summit. (ANI)
