Peaches Geldof to divorce after just six months
London - Bob Geldof's 19-year old daughter Peaches is to split from her husband of six months, it was announced Sunday.
Peaches married US rock star Max Drummey, 24, in a shotgun ceremony in Las Vegas last August.
The pair said in the statement that the split was amicable and no one else was involved.
In a joint statement they added they were looking forward "to a future as good friends".
"After much soul-searching we have made the mutual decision to end our marriage and have agreed to go our separate ways. Our parting is amicable and both of us still respect and care about each other immensely."
Peaches has a television and media career, and splits her time between London and New York.
Her father, Live Aid organiser Bob Geldof, was reported to have been concerned about the marriage, but mainly because of repeated reports of the pair's alleged drug use.
Drummey is singer with indie band Chester French, whilst Peaches is the daughter of Geldof and the late British TV presenter Paula Yates, who died of a drug overdose in
2000 after a traumatic love affair with Australian rocker Michael Hutchence.
Hutchence was found dead in a Sydney hotel room in 1997. dpa
