PCB Allows Shoaib To Play National 20-20 Championship
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has included the name of controversial fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, in a list of 15- member team for the National Twenty20 Championship starting from October 4.
However, the dispute over the payment of Rs 7 million fine imposed on the fast bowler has still not being cleared by the board.
Speaking on this, PCB COO, Shafqat Naghmi said, “We want Shoaib to play as do the selectors. The fine is a purely legal issue and we have told our legal counsel to seek clear directives and order from the Lahore High Court on the fine issue.”
The Board selectors have also shortlisted the fast bowler’s name in the list of 21 players for the four-nation 20-20 tournament in Toronto starting from October 10 next month. Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and Canada are the other teams to feature in this event.
Popularly known as ‘Rawalpindi Express,’ the fast bowler is currently playing for Surrey in England.
