Pakistani Movie “Khuda Kay Liye” To Hit Indian Screens From April 4

After receiving much acclamation throughout the world, Pakistani
director Khuda Kay LiyeShoaib Mansoor’s debut movie “Khuda Ke Liye” is ready hit Indian
cinemas on April 4.

“Khuda Ke Liye,” which has already won praise at Cairo, Muscat, Italy, Dubai and London, will be the first Pakistani movie to release in India after a
long gap of 40 years.

The movie shows how false interpretations of the scriptures
by Maulvis have an effect on the lives of Muslim people.

Mansoor told that the film is the result of his own resentment
towards the racist trends of the world against Muslims on the whole.

The film explores the quandary confronted by a progressive
liberal Muslim who has to choose a life between fundamentalism and the
irrational pessimism of the world after 9/11.

Mansoor said, “I wanted to project the tragedy of a liberal
Muslim, who internally is not considered a good Muslim because of his modernity
and outside his religion, he is labelled a fundamentalist just for having a
Muslim name.”

An English-Urdu film, released in Pakistan in July 2007, won several
awards that include the Award for Best Picture at 31st Cairo International Film
Festival. It is also the biggest grossing Pakistani movie of all time.

Actors Iman Ali and Rasheed Khan feel Khuda Kay Liye will
surely work its magic in India.

Featuring Iman Ali and Rasheed Khan, the film’s music has
been composed by Ahmed Jahanzeb and Shuja Haider. The movie also stars
Naseruddin Shah in a key role.

Iman said, “I’m confident it'll do very well in India. People
will flock the theatre to see what their brothers in Pakistan have done.”
