Pakistan government restricts import of dish antennae, decoders

Islamabad, Nov 13: People living in Pakistan would now have to seek permission from the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to import dish antenna, decoder, broadcasting machinery and its tools, a Pakistan Government release said today.

“Some additions have been made in the list of the prohibited items, which included broadcasting and digital newsgathering equipments and thus, dish, decoders, receivers, encoders, digital satellite newsgathering (DSNG), modulator, high-power amplifier (HPA), integrated digital receiver (IRD), low noise amplifier (LNA), broadband global axis network (BGAN), low noise block (LNB) and camera could only be imported with the permission of the PEMRA, ” Communication Ministry said in a notification issued here.

Earlier, these machineries and equipments could be imported in the country directly, The News reported. (ANI)
