Oz cricket WAGs can travel on tour
Melbourne, Feb 7 : Cricket Australia bosses have announced that they have no plans to ban cricketers' wives and partners from future tours.
There was a debate on having wives on tour after a row between Michael Clarke and Simon Katich over Clarke's fiancee Lara Bingle.
Former bikini babe, Bingle has been linked to the dust-up because of suggestions that Clarke wanted the Australian team song sung early so he could leave the SCG dressingrooms to be with his fiancee.
However, sources insisted that this was not the case.
CA sets aside a designated period, where it pays for wives and girlfriends to travel on tour, however, they cannot stop the WAGS from travelling on their own with their partners.
But now, the CA has declared that they won't be banning the WAGS from travelling on tour.
"We have found it (having wives and partners on tour) to have a significantly positive effect," The Courier Mail quoted CA spokesman Peter Young as saying.
Along with Bingle other popular WAGS are former karate champion Jessica Bratich, partner of fast bowler Mitchell Johnson and Ricky Ponting''s wife Rianna. (ANI)
