Oram Out Of The IPL Season 2!
Here’s sad news for Chennai Super Kings. Kiwi all-rounder Jacob Oram might pull out of the much awaited Indian Premier League (IPL)'s second season, if a pesky Achilles tendon injury, which has been ailing him for sometime now, stops his involvement in the domestic State Championship final on April 6..
Chennai Super Kings picked the Kiwi all-rounder for a massive 675,000 dollars last year. Oram played a big role with both bat and ball in Chennai's first three wins in the last season of the IPL.
However, Oram refuted all the media reports that he was saving himself for the money-spinning IPL in South Africa at the cost of participating in the current test series against India.
Speaking on this, the 30 year old Kiwi said, “I can understand people thinking I'm cotton-wooling myself but I'll definitely take myself out (of the IPL) if I don't get through the final.”
Currently, the New Zealand team is trailing by 0-1 against India. On Monday, the second Test match between the two teams ended in a tame draw.
The Chennai Super Kings will play their first match of the IPL 2 against the Mumbai Indians in Cape Town, South Africa, on April 18.
The lanky cricketer was forced to leave himself from the Central Districts' domestic four-day match against Auckland, apart from the home series against India.
However, Oram is confident that he would be able to regain the fitness test for the State Championship final.
