Sydney, Jan 11 : Swiss tennis great Roger Federer believes world number one Novak Djokovic has been the best hard court player in the past couple of years, and he tipped the Serb to win this year's Australian Open.

Djokovic can join Federer and Andre Agassi as the only men to win four Australian Open titles after thwarting Federer''s own quest for a historic three in a row in the 2008 semi-finals and then downing Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to claim his maiden major in Melbourne, the Age reports.

Melbourne, Jan 11 : Australia beat Sri Lanka by 107 runs in the first One-Day International (ODI) of the Commonwealth Bank Series here Friday.

Australia put on a dominant batting show after skipper George Bailey won the toss and elected to bat.

Phil Hughes became the first Australian ODI player to score a ton on debut, notching up an impressive 112.

Bailey (89) and David Hussey (60 not out) both contributed to the run tally, with Australia posting 305/5 in 50 overs.

In reply, Sri Lanka were all out for 198 in the 40th over.

New Delhi, Jan 11 : Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari on Friday said the ceasefire violations committed by Pakistan is completely intolerable, and added that Islamabad really needs to account for the actions of its personnel.

"It''s extremely unfortunate as to the manner in which elements of the Pakistani armed forces have acted on the border. Decapitation and mutilation of serving personnel is indeed a very grave matter and India has taken very serious note of it," Tewari told the media here.

Sydney, Jan 11 : Lawyers in the case of Indian-origin surgeon Dr. Jayant Patel, accused of the man slaughter of three patients in Australia, are in `a race against time to tie up all legal loose ends' before his trial next month.

The surgeon did not appear in the Supreme Court in Brisbane on Friday for a review of the case, in which he is charged with the manslaughter.

The crown handed up its new particulars of the case to Justice George Fryberg, who had last month deemed its initial submission `incomplete and embarrassing', the Herald Sun reports.

New York, Jan 11 : Number of users on photo-sharing app Instagram has declined after an Internet uproar last month over policy changes to the service, a new data has revealed.

Instagram, which was acquired by Facebook last year, sparked anger with terms of use suggesting it could sell users' photos to advertisers.

Instagram called it a `misunderstanding' and reverted to its old terms of use.

AppData, which tracks users who are logged into Instagram via Facebook, showed a 25 percent drop in Instagram's active daily users, to 12.4 million, from 16.4 million from December 19 to 26, the New York Post reports.
