Dasaev rejoins Spartak in coaching role

Rinat-Dasaev.jMoscow, Jan 12 : Former Soviet goalkeeper Rinat Dasaev has rejoined the club where he made his name, Spartak Moscow, to train the team's goalkeepers.

Dasaev spent a decade at Spartak from 1978, where he became a regular for the Soviet Union, with whom he won 91 caps and reached the final of Euro 1988, losing 0-2 to the Netherlands.

"I can confirm it," Torpedo Moscow head coach Boris Ignatyev said of rumours his goalkeeping coach was set to switch to Spartak.

"Today Dasaev said goodbye to the team and club management. We wished him success."

The selectors Friday retained Misbahul Haq as captain, besides calling back left-hand spinner Abdur Rehman after a limited period ban on him for a failed dope test, reports Xinhua.

Fast bowler Mohammad Irfan, who recently impressed in India, won a berth in the team to play Test matches against World No. 1 South Africa.

Messi was given the award last Monday. This is an award given by France Football and FIFA to the best player in the world.

Kate’s first official portrait gets mixed reviews London, Jan 12 : The Duchess of Cambridge's first official painting has been unveiled, receiving mixed reviews from critics.

Paul Emsley's work took several months using a technique of building thin layers of oil and glazes on canvas.

The artist had two sittings with the duchess and also worked from a series of photographs he took, the BBC reported.

The portrait is now on display at London's National Portrait Gallery, which commissioned the work. The duchess is the gallery's patron.

Constable Babulal Patel was cremated at his village Malak Balau near Allahabad.

The cremation was attended by a large crowd, including people from adjoining villages.

Constable Patel's body was brought to Allahabad by CRPF officials by air and then taken to his house by road, reaching Malak Balau in the afternoon.
