The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Thursday for various steps to implement key infrastructure projects, with an aim to accelerate the process of infrastructure development in the country.

The list of planned infrastructure projects includes cover sectors like highway, railway, port, airport and power.

The deadlines for the implementation of the projects were set at the first meeting of the steering group appointed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to step up infrastructure investment.

"High school is hard enough, but having this problem and knowing that everyone is looking at you in the hallways and I went to a small school and clearly nobody has acne like I did," he added.

Thiruvananthapuram, July 26 : State Bank of Travancore (SBT) logged a 24 percent growth in operating profit in the first quarter of this fiscal over the like period in the last financial year.

In a statement, the bank Friday said the operating profit touched Rs. 419 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal. It was Rs. 340 crore in the same period in the last fiscal.

Kolkata, July 26 : RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group flagship company CESC Friday decided to delist its equity shares from the London Stock Exchange.

The company at its annual general meeting here secured the shareholders' approval for this. Group chairman Sanjiv Goenka attributed "very low dealings in the shares in recent years" as the reason behind the decision.

The company reported 4.8 percent rise in net profit at Rs. 131 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2013 as against the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

New Delhi, July 26 : India's advanced weather satellite Insat-3D launched early Friday will improve weather forecasting system, including that of the monsoon, officials said Friday.

"This is a big step and will certainly improve our forecasting system," Shailesh Nayak, secretary, union ministry of earth sciences, told reporters here.

Insat-3D was launched early Friday onboard Ariane-5 rocket from Kourou in French Guiana off the Pacific coast.

New Delhi, July 26 : Top Indian doubles shuttler Ashwini Ponnappa wants to leave the disappointment of the Indian Badminton League (IBL) players' auction behind and concentrate on the forthcoming World Championships, to be held in Guangzhou Aug 5-11.

"The last couple of days, the IBL distraction disrupted my training, but now I am back on court and practising hard for the upcoming World Championships. I am training in Bangalore right now while my doubles partner Pradnya Gadre is training in Hyderabad," Ashwini told IANS from Bangalore.
