Mumbai, Sep 6 : He is one of Bollywood's most eligible bachelors, but Ranbir Kapoor has dismissed recent rumours that he is getting engaged on his 31st birthday Sep 28. He says marriage is not even on his mind.

"There was a report saying that I am getting engaged on my birthday. There is no truth to that. I would just request to them that whenever a boy proposes to a girl, it is a very important moment for girl's life, so don't spoil my surprise," Ranbir said here Thursday at the launch of the song from his upcoming film "Besharam".

Mumbai, Sep 6 : Actress-singer Priyanka Chopra, who has given hits like "Fashion" and "Barfi!", and worked with international singers like Will. iam and Pitbull, says she competes only with herself. And she admits she is critical of herself.

Priyanka also said she is not bothered by what her contemporaries in showbiz do.

Beijing, Sep 6: China supports the United Nations' efforts to resolve the Syria issue, foreign ministry spokesman Hong Lei said Friday.

"We hope relevant parties continue to keep in touch and deepen negotiations to seek a peaceful, proper solution on Syria," Xinhua quoted Hong as saying.

His remarks came in response to a US move to carry out military action without UN approval and the accusation levelled by the US that Russia has taken the Security Council "hostage" on Syria.

New Delhi, Sep 6 : A movie debut with a horror film is a rarity. Newcomer Nandini Vaid, who has taken the plunge, says shooting for the Vikram Bhatt movie was an emotionally draining experience for her.

The actress says the film's genre required a "dark and dingy" feel.

"It is quite challenging. It is a dark and dingy film. We were constantly shooting in the same environment. Bringing that fear factor to the table and doing the scenes everyday was emotionally draining. It was tough," Nandini told IANS.

Nevertheless, it was a good learning experience for the model-turned-actress.

Kolkata, Sep 6  : Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) beginning Nov 10. It will be galvanised by the presence of the Bachchan family, including Aishwarya Rai, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said here Friday.

"I am very happy and delighted to share with you all that Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji, a great legend, has accepted our invitation to inaugurate the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival to be held on 10th November, 2013," Banerjee said on her official Facebook page.
