Washington: Ibuprofen may lower lung inflammation and help elderly fight tuberculosis bacteria, a new study has found.

Immune cells from old mouse lungs fought tuberculosis bacteria as effectively as cells from young mice after lung inflammation was reduced by ibuprofen, researchers from Ohio State University found.

The ibuprofen had no effect on the immune response to TB in young mice, the study found.

"Very few researchers have linked inflammation to infectious disease in old age, even though TB in particular will drive that inflammation even further," said Joanne Turner, associate professor of microbial infection and immunity at Ohio State and senior author of the study.

The western half of the United States would have the best view of the Eclipse and because it happens right after the perigee, the closest point to Earth in the moon's orbit, this blood moon would be nearly the size of a super moon, appearing
5.3 percent larger than the previous blood moon on April 15.

During this particular eclipse, the Moon crosses somewhat north of the umbra's center. So expect the northern half of the lunar disk, the side nearest the umbra's outer edge, to look somewhat brighter and the southern half somewhat darker.

Washington, Oct 4 - A new research has revealed the neurobiological basis of human-pet relationship, suggesting that women respond to their pets in the same way they do to their babies.

Researchers from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) investigated differences in how important brain structures are activated when women view images of their children and of their own dogs.

Lori Palley, co-lead author, said that pets hold a special place in many people's hearts and lives, and there is compelling evidence from clinical and laboratory studies that interacting with pets can be beneficial to the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of humans.

Washington, Oct 04 - NASA has recently observed a giant million miles long filament across the Sun, it has been reported.

Filaments are clouds of solar material suspended above the sun by powerful magnetic forces. Though notoriously unstable, filaments can last for days or even weeks.
