New Delhi, Sep 4 : The Ministry of Home Affairs today issued a statement expressing grief over the loss of precious lives in Jammu and Kashmir due to floods and assured the state government that it would l provide all necessary help .

Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had a telephonic conversation with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah , who briefed him about the flood situation in the state.

Rajnath Singh was also briefed about a bus with 50 passengers being washed away.

Washington, Sep 4  : New report from the International Data Corporation (IDC) suggests that more than 1.25 billion smartphones will be shipped worldwide in 2014, a 23.8 percent increase from the 1.01 billion units shipped in
2013.

Total volumes are forecast to reach 1.8 billion units in 2018, a 12.7 percent CAGR for the 2013-2018 forecast period.

In 2014, IDC expects that mature markets will slow to just 4.9 percent growth while emerging markets will continue to soar at 32.4 percent, pushing the total market up 23.8 percent.

Washington, Sep 04 : Researchers have recently suggested that half of all Exoplanet's host stars are actually Binary stars.

A team of astronomers, led by Dr. Elliott Horch, Southern Connecticut State University, have shown that stars with exoplanets are just as likely to have a binary companion; that is, 40 percent to 50 percent of the host stars are actually binary stars.

Washington, September 4 : Miranda Lambert has topped the list of nominees for CMA Awards 2014 with nine nominations.

The 30-year-old American country music artist, who had become the first female artist in the history of the CMA Awards to have received that many nominations in one year, in 2010, has again matched the number of nominations, the CNN reported.
