All about Mercedes F 015 Self-Driving Car

Mercedes wants to offer people an experience wherein they can imagine sitting comfortably in a luxurious automobile, with ample space, having face to face conversation with leg room to spare, checking email or completing up that work project, while the car they are taking to meeting is cruising along with no driver at the wheels.

This is the experience that Mercedes wants to offer with its F 015 Luxury in Motion, a computer-driven autonomous vehicle. Alibaba to introduce ‘Smile to pay’ technology that will allow users to pay using Selfie

A mobile purchase security system is being developed by Chinese e-commerce merchant Alibaba. The security system would authenticate payments by matching a photo taken by the user at the time of purchase with one stored on their smartphone.

The technology is currently being tested by Ant Financial, an Alibaba affiliate that runs the Alipay payment service, which is China's largest online and mobile payments service.

Apart from the new selfie-based payment scheme, Ant Financial is also developing another voice-command activated verification method before purchasing online.

The facial-recognition payment system called 'Smile to Pay' was demonstrated by Jack Ma, founder and CEO of Alibaba Group Holdings, at the CeBIT 2015 conference in Germany this week.

MAVEN uncovers Two Mysteries in Martian Atmosphere

Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN Mission (MAVEN) of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has uncovered two new mysteries in the atmosphere of Mars. The probe, which has been orbiting the Red Planet since last year has noticed a weird high-altitude dust cloud and an aurora show in the atmosphere of the planet. According to reports, the dazzling aurora light show was much lower in the Martian atmosphere than scientists anticipated. In addition, scientists do not know about the origin of the dust cloud.

According to the space agency, the dust cloud had extended from about 150 kilometers to 300 kilometers over the surface of the planet. The agency said that it had not expected a weird dust cloud at those altitudes.

Recently Found Two Seafloor Gateways Can Be Reason behind Rapid Thinning Of Totten Glacier

Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin's Institute for Geophysics (UTIG) in the Jackson School of Geosciences have recently discovered two seafloor gateways.

Researchers believe that these gateways might be allowing the warm ocean water to enter the base of the Totten Glacier, East Antarctica's largest outlet of ice and the most rapidly thinning glacier.

The findings, published in the March 16th edition of the journal Nature Geoscience, explain the reason behind glacier's fast melting and also raised concerns about how it will impact the sea level.

Jamin Greenbaum, one of the researchers, said in a news release that they know there are avenues for the warmest waters in east Antarctica to access the most sensitive areas of Totten Glacier.
