French Parliament accepts Amendment making it Crime to Use Anorexic Models

France is considered to be one of the most image conscious countries of the world. But now, French authorities are taking action to end the glorification of extremely thin women.

France's parliament has taken a step as per which it would be a crimes to hire anorexic models or encourage anorexia. France is not alone in this initiative as Israel and Spain have already taken these steps.

Though the action would be applicable only on France, it would have a wide impact due to its outsized influence in setting style trends across the world.

Matter inside Black Holes Is Not Lost Forever, Claims Study

For the past several decades, scientists have argued on the point that anything that enters a black hole is lost. They also though that black holes absorb information and disappear afterwards without leaving behind any traces of what they might have contained.

But a recently conducted study claims that the matter that gets absorbed by the black holes is not lost forever.

It is known that Stephen Hawking proposed the theory that matter gets destroyed after entering a black hole.

According to Hawking, as black holes emit radiation energy it is natural that they would in the end exhaust and evaporate. But the rules of quantum mechanics state that all information must be conserved, which contradicts the Hawking's theory.

NASA to Host International Space Apps Challenge

It has been reported that NASA's Glenn Research Center in Cleveland will for the first time host the International Space Apps Challenge, a global, mass collaboration that gathers volunteer participants to work on specific NASA challenges.

Sean Gallagher, Glenn's chief information officer, said in a press release that teams of tech-savvy citizens in Northeast Ohio are willing to present their innovative ideas on how NASA can be able to solve specific mission challenges.

NASA's Glenn Research Center has joined hands with OHTec, formerly NEOSA, in order to host the Space Apps Challenge.

The event will take place on April 10-12 in Glenn's new Mission Integration Center in Brook Park.

Excessive Consumption of Ice Tea led to man’s kidney failure

In a recent study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, doctors said that an Arkansas man suffered kidney failure after drinking a gallon of iced tea per day. Last year, the 56 year old man was hospitalized after suffering from weakness, nausea, aches, fatigue.

Doctors were surprised to find that even with no history of kidney stone in his life, the man's urine had huge amount of Ca salts. Doctors, after further questioning, revealed that the reason can be the huge intake of ice tea by him.

Doctors found that the patient's kidney was clogged and inflamed with oxalate, a chemical which is found in food.

Biologists Call Locals from Nottinghamshire to Report Spring Sightings of Wild Rabbits and Hares

Biologists are eager to determine numbers of different hares and rabbits so they are asking locals from Nottinghamshire to report spring sightings of wild rabbits and hares.

According to biologists, this move is a part of a new conservation initiative that aims to observe whether the numbers of the animals are rising or declining by producing the first National Mammal Atlas in over 20 years. The new conservation initiative is led by the Mammal Society.

It has been believed that hares are decreasing in parts of the UK, whereas rabbits are suffering from yxomatosis and other viral diseases. This is the reason locals have been requested to send images in order to aid map the mammal's UK population.

Greece is all set to make IMF Payment Next week

On Friday, a Greece government source said that the country is likely to meet its financial obligations to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and salaries of pay workers next week. Meeting obligations could ease rumors that Athens, capital and largest city of Greece, could default on its debts with unknowable consequences for global markets.

While talking about on condition of anonymity, the source said that everything that will be paid next week is the IMF, pensions and workers' wages. According to reports, Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, has a deadline of April 9 to pay the International Monetary Fund of about 460 million euros so that the country could meet condition of its loan agreement.
