London, Jun 19 : `Hannah Montana' star Miley Cyrus has got a new chart rival, and it is none other than her older sister Brandi, who has joined a pop group.

Brandi Cyrus, 22, had previously played guitar as back up for Miley, but she is now ready to make her own mark with her band Frank and Derol, alongside lead vocalist Codi Caraco and Megan Park.

Barcelona - Spanish politicians and other personalities on Friday paid tribute to Vicente Ferrer, a former Jesuit who died in India after dedicating his life to helping more than 2 million poor people there.

Ferrer passed away Friday at age 89 in Anantapur, in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Born in Barcelona, Ferrer participated in the Spanish Civil War without firing a single shot, and later abandoned law studies to become a Jesuit. He arrived in Mumbai in
1952.

London, Jun 19 : Brit man Hilaire Purbrick, who has been living in a homemade cave, is under threat of being evicted by health and safety officials after it was discovered the place did not have a fire escape.

Purbrick, a 46-year-old dad-of-four, had carved the cave out of chalky rock himself with a pick and a spade, and ever since officials blocked the entrance to the cave, he has been living in a nearby shed.

"I don''t know why I built it, it just felt right," the Mirror quoted him as saying.

Silverstone, Britain - The Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber led the way on Friday in the first practice session for the British Formula One Grand Prix which was overshadowed by the plan of eight major teams to quit the sport.

Amsterdam - Dutch home-buyers were hoping for extra financial support with the government expected Friday to approve of expanding the conditions of an existing special insurance for home owners.

The insurance guarantees that the mortgage will be paid if - under certain circumstances - the owners can no longer meet their financial obligations.

At present, only people who buy a home of up to 265,000 euros (368,000 dollars) have been able to apply for this type of insurance.
