London, June 20 : Silvio Berlusconi is so badly stuck in the labyrinth of controversies that he has become "blackmailable", says a leading Italian daily newspaper.

"The spectre of blackmail hangs over Berlusconi," said La Stampa.

Giampiero Mughini, a right-wing commentator, said: "A Prime Minister who is so blackmailable is a problem for the country."

Meanwhile, the scandal surrounding the Italian Prime Minister over his extramarital affairs has just got sleazier, reports The Times.

Beijing, June 20 : The Chinese Government has declared that the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games generated a profit of more than one billion yuan (146 million dollars).

According to the National Audit Office (NAO) website, the total operating cost of the Games was 19.343 billion yuan and the operating revenue was 20.5 billion yuan.

China also spent 19.49 billion yuan on building 102 Olympic projects in Beijing and the five other cities that co-hosted the Games, the report said.

Washington, June 20 : Although dads get less attention on Father's Day than moms do on Mother's Day, they are still satisfied with it, says an expert.

A psychology lecturer Nicole Gilbert Cote at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst insists that the part of the reason seems to be that moms expect to get an off from their stereotypical household chores such as cooking and cleaning up, while dads don't expect any such option.

Baghdad  - One child was killed and eight other people were wounded when a house and a police station were hit by rocket fire in the western Iraqi city of al-Ramadi, a police source said.

The source told the German Press Agency dpa that the attackers, believed to be al-Qaeda members, fired two rockets in the attack in al-Ramadi, some 100 kilometres west of the capital Baghdad.

The first rocket struck a house, killing the child dead and wounding six members of the family.

Lahore, June 20 : Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) MPA from Rahimyar Khan, Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mehmood, has said that the provincial government needs to quickly build schools, hospitals and roads in South Punjab or it will become the next region in Pakistan to be wracked by insurgency.

London, Jun 20 : British schools have been told by the Government that they should no longer teach children the "i before e except after c" spelling rule, as it is irrelevant and confusing.

The new guidance has been issued by the National Strategies and its document ''Support for Spelling'' has been sent to primary schools.
