As per the team associated with the launch, the rocket or the vessel reached at an altitude of over 100 thousand kilometers and retuned back on earth without any difficulties and technical issues.

The company said in a statement that success of their flagship rocket is a significant step in its quest to build a reusable spacecraft that could carry up to six passengers into space and bring them back on earth safely.

It’s Your Gut Bacteria That Makes You Feel Full While You Eat

Usually when you sit for eating, after sometime you start feeling full and you tend to drop your spoon and avoid eating further. Now a team of researchers has found the reason behind this feeling of being full.

The team for their study studied the growth dynamics of E. coli K12, a model organism of commensally strains of gut E. coli bacteria. They noted that the chemical clues hinted that when a specific kind of bacteria in the gut feels that it has had enough nutrients for the time then it tells brain that its host should stop eating.

Researchers said they found that within 20 minutes of eating, E. coli bacteria starts producing a protein which has been found to be associated with appetite suppression response in the brain. E. coli bacteria are found in abundance in the human gut.

90% of natural disasters occurred in past two decades were weather-related, UN reports

As per a report published by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), on Monday, 90% of natural disasters that took place in the last 20 years were weather-related.

The global catastrophes, including floods, heat waves, extreme cold, storms and droughts have taken more than 600,000 lives and affected an average of 4 billion people across the globe.

While making this report, the UNISDR in partnership with the Belgian-based Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED) collected and analyzed data since the first Climate Change Conference that held in 1995.

The report said that every year between 1995 and 2015,an estimated 205 million people were left homeless, got wounded or required emergency assistance due to 6,457 weather-related disasters.

Mars may have a ring of its own

Mars will also come in the category of Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune. Wondering how so? A new research from UC Berkeley has suggested that Mars’ largest moon Phobos would break into pieces and it will be completely shredded till it reaches moon. The process would lead to a ring of debris that will encircle the planet.

Study’s co-researcher TusharMittal said that if the moon breaks apart at around 680 kms above the surface then very narrow ring would be formed when compared one of the biggest rings of Saturn.

“Over time it would spread out and get wider, reaching the top of the Martian atmosphere in a few million years, when it would start losing material because stuff would keep raining down on Mars”, affirmed Mittal.

Researchers find a Way to make Flatworms Grow Other Species’ Heads and Brains

Researchers have found a new technique which could help them in influencing cells of flatworms to manipulate them to grow other flatworm species’ brains and heads, according to a new study. The finding could prove that genetics do not exclusively control the physical growth.

Michael Levin, a researcher from the Tufts University Center for Regenerative and Developmental Biology in the School of Arts and Sciences and one of the study authors, said it is believed that an organism’s shape is decided by chromatin’s structure and sequence, but the new study has proved that physiological network function is capable of superseding the anatomy.

Astronomers find why Star VY Canis Majoris is losing Weight

Astronomers have captured most detailed images ever ofred hypergiant starVY Canis Majoris in the constellation Canis Major by using Very Large Telescope (VLT) of the European Southern Observatory (ESO). After examining them, they found that dust particles around the star caused it to lose huge amount of mass.

It is the first time when astronomers have succeeded in understanding why one of the largest stars in the Milky Way has started dying.VY Canis Majoris is about 4,892 light years from earth. The star is about 300,000 times more luminous than the sun.
