Florida is leading the country in new HIV infections. But the figure hasn’t been seen as a crisis by Gov. Rick Scott or the top health officer of the state, Dr. John Armstrong.

With the spread of the disease, Scott and Armstrong have put four years of personnel cuts in the Department of Health, shrinking the size of nation’s health departments.

Now, the state lawmakers have come up with queries that whether the spending decisions have resealed into a sicker population in a state where HIV infections have been going up with every year since 2012 as they’ve declined countrywide.

As per the state and federal data, in 2014, Miami-Dade and Broward were on 1st and 2nd position in the US in new HIV infections per 100,000 residents.

After more than a year at hospital, a Florida family will take home one of their conjoined child. Born conjoined in December of 2014, one of two twin brothers, named Conner has been released from a Jacksonville hospital on Wednesday. The family expressed happiness over the better health of both kids. Carter, the other twin is also doing well, but for now Carter will stay in the hospital.

The twin brothers were born conjoined at the abdomen with sharing tiny intestine and also had fused livers.

Many people are concerned due to a Listeria monocytogenes outbreak in the United States and Canada related to recalled Dole packaged salads. The outbreak has sickened more than 12 people in the US and five people in Canada. The US-sickened people have been hospitalized, and a person in Michigan has died.

In case you have bought Dole salads, here’s what you can do. First of all, check your refrigerator for the recalled products. You can identify the salads by the letter ‘A’ at the starting of the manufacturing code present on the package. The code is mentioned under the ‘enjoy by’ date.

A research has shown that storks that are feeding on rubbish dumps, instead of migrating have more chances to survive the winter. An international team said that the bird is one of the growing numbers of migratory species that have brought chances in their behavior because of human influences.

All white storks in Europe used to migrate south for the winter until recently, but now a large number of them have started flying shorter distances for feeding on dumps. The bird breeds from Europe to north-west Africa and western Asia.

Traditionally, European White storks used to fly south for spending the winter in Africa but in recent years an increasing number have preferred staying closer to home, after getting lured by the food discarded at landfill sites.

According to ESA/NASA Hubble Space Telescope, a cluster of young, super-hot stars have been posing for a picture, threatening to grasp attention away from the planets and other astronomical wonders.

The Trumpler 14 star cluster stars are among the most luminous in the galaxy and their unusually hot temperatures and close proximity lighten ups space to a degree hardly ever seen. The Hubble Space Telescope photo release has named the stars, ‘dazzling diamonds’.

The press released said that the stars have been making a large impact on their environment, and are literally making waves.

In an email two weeks back, NASA Commander Scott Kelly sent good news that the ping pong paddles have finally reached aboard the International Space Station. After returning on Earth, a 22-year-old Gresham man had to wait for fifteen days to watch the viral video proof of his summer experiments.

A Portland State University engineering student, Karl Cardin, who designed four paddles composed of a hydrophobic polycarbonate material, said that they knew it would work.

It was finally worked on Thursday. Through a tweet, Kelly posted a mesmerizing minute-long video, displaying the water-repelling power of paddles.
