A new report has claimed that usage of Adderall among adolescents has increased in the recent years. Non-medical consumption of the drug has increased in the recent years, said the report. Adderall is a drug prescribed to people suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder to help gain attention.

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University, through a study, found that non-medical use of drug rose by 67%, while emergency room visits due to Adderall increased by 155%. In some cases, Adderall was taken along with other drugs.

The National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) has revealed that around 20 million women and 10 million men across the US suffer from eating disorder during their lifespan. Eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder.

This number is more than the number of adults suffering from heart diseases. Eating disorders eventually result in further issues like tooth decay and irregular heart rate, along with electrolyte imbalances causing low blood pressure and dehydration leading to kidney failure and muscle loss.

Anorexia has been found to have the maximum rate of mortality of any mental illness, since 4% of people suffering from this disease die due to the complexities associated with it.

According to a review published in the journal Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics of multiple existing studies, increase in the consumption of coffee could help reduce the risk of developing alcohol-related cirrhosis.

Researchers, who analyzed nine studies that evaluated the link between coffee intake and cirrhosis risk, said that drinking only two more cups of coffee every day could decrease the vulnerability of suffering from the liver condition by 44%.

The demographic groups that get lower-than-average rates of enough sleep included non-Hispanic blacks, with 54.2% saying that they slept an average of seven hours or more per night. The rate was 53.7% in native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders both, and 59.6% each in American Indians and Native Alaskans.

Released on Thursday, the study was compiled using the responses of 444,306 people countrywide, who were told to share their sleep routines for a 2014 survey.
