South Miami to Enjoy Organic Fast Food from March
Two-time NBA champion Ray Allen will soon open a restaurant named Grown in South Miami. The organic fast-food joint will open up in March 2016 and will be supported by former Heat superstar and actor. The restaurant assures that its opening will revolutionize the thinking of people about healthy eating habits.
This restaurant of Allen and his wife Shannon has been inspired by their 9-year-old son who is struggling with Type 1 diabetes. Allen and Shannon have five children.
The couple said that the idea of the restaurant stuck them as they faced difficulties with finding food for their child having correct level of nutrients. They stated that their restaurant will serve real food that will be slowly cooked for fast-food customers. Organic meals, cooked using locally sourced ingredients, will be offered at the restaurant. The price of the food items will be between $4 and $18.
One can find exactly the food items that are supposed to be present at an organic food restaurant. It will be filled with gluten-free baked goods and customized cold-pressed juices, along with small-batch soups, fresh salads and sandwiches as well as wraps.
The restaurant will also provide the convenience aspects of full service drive-thru, grab-and-go options and carry-out. The slogan of the restaurant is ‘real food, cooked slow for fast people.’
The restaurant will possess its own rooftop garden to ensure that the food cooked at the restaurant always has sufficient supply of fresh and natural ingredients. In addition, the couple has made sure that the restaurant construction included only environment-friendly materials. The restaurant will serve a kids menu, along with regular breakfast, lunch and dinner. It took six years for the couple to build the concept and plan their restaurant. The couple will open their restaurant at 8211 South Dixie Highway.
