New Delhi [India], Oct 12 : Ahead of the weekend meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping, China has said that it is ready to have talks with India on the latter's entry into the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).

Former foreign secretary Bhupatray Shashank on Wednesday said China does not want to de-friend India at the cost of Pakistan.

Shashant told ANI, "China is saying that India has to negotiate with all the members of the NSG. So, it's not a bilateral issue."

"China is trying to divert attention from its own role in blocking India's entry into NSG by saying 'look you have not spoken to others and they are others, who are blocking it," he added.

New Delhi [India], Oct. 12 : The first ever three-day BRICS Trade Fair will commence at the Pragati Maidan here on the theme 'Building BRICS - Innovation for Collaboration'.

There are several sectors of interest to BRICS countries - a grouping of emerging economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - that will be represented at the trade fair, though the focus will be to showcase some of the best technologies available across BRICS nations to address BRICS countries main development challenges.

The BRICS Trade Fair will also focus on 'start-ups' and will bring together young entrepreneurs from across BRICS nations on this platform.

Kabul [Afghanistan], Oct.12 : Several gunmen opened fire at the Imam Ali Shrine in Afghanistan's capital Kabul late on Tuesday night, killing at least 14 people and wounding 36 others.

The Imam Ali shrine is in the vicinity of the western Karte Sakhi area of the city.

Khamma News quoted Ministry of Interior spokesman Sediq Sediqi, as saying that the area has been cleared and the last attacker was shot dead.

Sediqi further added that the number of casualties will be released later.

The attack which was launched around 7. 30 p.m. yesterday.

Eyewitnesses and local residents in Karte Sakhi area earlier said sporadic clashes continued in the area for several hours as scores of Afghan forces arrived in the area to eliminate the attackers.

Holding placards bearing slogans such as 'Pakistan must face war crime trials', 'Stop Baloch genocide', 'We are for Balochistan', 'Free Balochistan', 'Balochs reject Pak-China CPEC Agreement', 'Respect human Rights of Baloch', '5,000 killed 20,000 missing'; 'Balochistan is an occupied country', and raising pro-freedom like "we want free Balochistan", the activists sought the immediate intervention of the world community to resolve their issues.

Seoul [South Korea], Oct.11 : Samsung Electronics Co Ltd shares plunged by eight percent in trading in Seoul on Tuesday after the company decided to halt the sales of Galaxy Note 7.

The South Korean giants' decision to halt sales came amid reports of the Smartphone exploding following which the company decided to stop the production of Note 7.

The Samsung in an email to the Verge said, "Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note 7. Consumers with an original Galaxy Note 7 or replacement Galaxy Note 7 should power down and take advantage of the remedies available, including a refund at their place of purchase.

The smartphone was scheduled to launch in this Diwali.
