TNT to separate Express and Mail unitsThe delivery group TNT has declared that it is going to divide its Express and Mail units in to separate companies. The firm has announced that it would run the Express and Mail units as separate companies from next year.

Another decision on sales and market flotation could be taken in the future if required. This was announced at the time when the firm TNT reported its profit of 3 million euros for the second quarter of the year.

This was a huge fall in its profit as the firm reported a profit of 81 million euros in the same time period just a year ago.

Alan Greenspan warns US about double-dip recession

Alan-GreenspanAlan Greenspan, the former chairman of US Federal Reserve has warned that, the economy of US is approaching towards the double-dip recession. He has also said the financial recovery is currently at a pause state in US, which can be called a quasi recession.

He has said about the possibilities of US to fall beck in to recession in the near future. Mr. Alan Greenspan worked as the chief of the US Federal Reserve from 1987 to 2006 until his retirement.

NDTV posted first quarter net loss of Rs 31.11 crore

NDTVLeading Media firm of the country NDTV has announced its first quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2010-11. The company has informed that it has incurred a huge loss in the quarter under review.

It has suffered a net loss of Rs 31.11 crore during the April-June period of fiscal year 2010.  However, the company has managed to reduce its loss in this quarter against its like period a year ago.

Washington Post to sell the Newsweek magazineThe Washington Post is going to sell the Newsweek magazine to the founder of the firm Harman International Industries Mr. Sidney Harman. Harman won the Newsweek magazine in an auction which includes OpenGate Capital, owner of TV Guide and Fred Drasner etc.

Before this the Washington Post owned that US weekly news magazine for nearly last 50 years. The magazine has been running in loss for last few years.

Qinetiq to slash 325 jobs more

Qinetiq to slash 325 jobs moreThe head chop are on top of the 391 redundancies declared a month ago that affected the engineers, scientists and managers at locations like Farnborough, Hampshire and Malvern, Worcestershire.

Qinetiq expressed that it was in discussions with unions over the additional cuts in its services business.

The news corroborates the fears of the Prospect union that expressed in the month of July it projected approx 700 jobs to go in total.

Labour unrest at Hyundai…again?
