Bremen, Germany  - A Bremen-based designer is turning heads with hats that look like grandma herself made them, while giving the wearer a light, airy feel.

The hats by Petra Deginther do not just keep people's heads warm, but also give the wearer an original look. Deginther's collection has 40 models including berets, caps in the 1920s styles, wide-brimmed hats with ribbed designs, knitted caps and hats with earflaps.

The craze started a few years ago with a homemade hat.

"Someone bought it right off my head," Deginther says. From then on, she turned her hobby into a career. Meanwhile, she employs employed 10 seamstresses and sells her wares online at www. deginther. (dpa)
