Security Beefed Up In Nagpur After JeM Threat To SachinThe Nagpur Police Commissioner, Praveen Dixit, confirmed reports of JeM threat to ace cricket player Sachin Tendulkar stating, "The Central government has issued a high-alert for Sachin...They have information that the JeM has issued a threat to him."

However, keeping in mind the terror threats on the Aussies, he took a U-Turn and said, "There is no specific threat to any individual player and there is no threat input".

He further added that the security arrangements would be usual and uniform.

Tendulkar had been threatened in 2002 by the Jaish and ever since his security has been tightened. The Nagpur police has also taken stern measures to secure the practice nets, stadium, and the hotel were the teams would be staying and their traveling arrangements.

The BCCI has accordingly issued an alert at all the Venues of the India-Australia Test Matches. Security has also been beefed up and CCTV cameras installed at the stadium of the Vidarbha Cricket Association at Civil Lines, where the two teams would have net sessions for the next two days.
