Heat wave spreads across India

Heat WaveNagpur /Raipur, Apr 22 : Rising mercury levels made life miserable for residents in different parts of the country as they grapple with a heat wave.

In Nagpur, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41 degree Celsius.

People quenched their thirst with sugarcane juice and butter milk or lassi made from curd and flavoured with salt or fruit juice.

The rising temperature has made difficult for residents to even walk on streets.

Vilas Muttemwar, the Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy, who is seeking his fourth term from Nagpur, revealed this change of plan.

On April 10, Gandhi will be on a brief tour to Vidarbha region and launch a campaign for Congress and NCP candidates.

The first candidate happens to be Union Civil Aviation Minister and senior NCP leader Praful Patel, who represents the Bhandara-Gondia constituency.

Kuppahalli Sitaramayya Sudarshan was nine when he first attended an RSS shakha. He was appointed as a pracharak in 1954.

Nagpur, Mar 21 : A three-day conclave of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has begun here and will chalk out strategy for the upcoming general elections.

The RSS said that it would support the front where it is respected.

"If you look at the national political fronts, RSS is welcomed in one of them, but we want that every front should do that, where there is respect for Hindutva. RSS has its presence in large numbers where it is respected. We request the people to vote and with what viewpoint they should do this. This will also be discussed," said Manmohan Vaide, publicity head of the RSS.
