Prachi Desai & Sameer Dattani Walk The Ramp At LFW For Krishna Mehta
On the opening day (Oct 20) at the Gitanjali sponsored ‘Lakme Fashion Week’, Prachi Desai and Sameer Dattani added glamour to the attracting colors of the desert as Krishna Mehta unleashed her line of vibrantly hued Spring/Summer 2009 collection called ‘Sunrise in the Desert Sands’.
Showcasing a men’s and women’s pret line in lively colors including poster red, cobalt blue, yellow, green, shimmering orange and tones of violet added magic to the new collection.
The weaves in silks with chiffons and georgettes added their splendor to the apparels that discreetly gleamed with crystals, sequins and shiny woven ‘gota’ embroidery.
Both men and women lines were in simple basic silhouettes - tiny smocks, minis, shirt dresses, kurtas, textured dresses and a sumptuous line of saris were a feast for the viewers.
Keeping the line simple, Krishna made a point that the main focus was on the clothes that have been specially woven, texturised, bleached, hand embroidered and block printed by the design group from ‘Palak’, a centre for physically challenged and differently abled people, established by Krishna herself in Gujarat.
Moreover, lovely footwear matched the dresses in their vivacious colors.
The show stoppers were actor Sameer Dattani in a silk sherwani and TV and Bollywood beauty, Prachi Desai in a red long chiffon gown.
