Plane Makers To Go For Production

Leading commercial plane makers, Boeing Co. said that it would go for production of commercial planes as per its earlier plans. France-based Airbus, on the other hand, decided to stop the production for some time. However, no company got a new order for plane purchase in the first two days of the ongoing Hyderabad air show.

Plane Makers To Go For ProductionThe plane manufacturing companies had earlier, forecasted that planes demand would increase in India. Boeing was optimistic to get an order of 1,001 aircraft worth $105 billion in the next 20 years. However, the aviation industry is bleeding for the moment. The downfall would seriously affect the growth prospectus of plane makers and service provider in the long run. Indian domestic carriers such as Jet and Kingfisher are shedding staff. Kingfisher has also scrapped the idea of purchasing new aircrafts.

Boeing commercial airplanes’ sales vice-president, Dinesh A. Keskar said the ongoing crisis is temporary and situation would improve very soon. The company still expects Indian fleet size around 719 by 2016 and 1200 by 2026. He termed overcapacity as a big problem for aviation slowdown. Airlines are shifting from high-capacity planes to low-capacity narrow-body aircraft of 70-120 seats.
