Regular Exposures To Air Pollution, Tobacco Smoke And Allergens Can Lead To Laryngitis
Various studies have shown contribution of pollution in increased risk of numerous diseases. Exposure to environmental tobacco smoke, allergens, and air pollution leads to various problems in human beings. Pollution could be harmful for all age groups but it is deadly for health of small children and elderly.
Recent study has added one more adverse effect of pollution in the long list of aliments caused by pollution. In the recent study, researchers showed that pollution could be the prime cause of chronic and recurrent cases of laryngitis.
Usually this condition is related to the illness to a viral infection or overuse of the voice. The recent research has shown that exposure to passive smoke and air pollution could also trigger this aliment.
Researchers used animal models in the recent research. Analysis of data collected from these animal models showed that exposure to large number of environmental pollutants including dust mites and regular air pollution could be responsible for the long-lasting and recurring conditions of this particular ailment. This condition is often called ‘environmental laryngitis’.
Despite of the efforts of various authorities through out the world, level of pollution is increasing day by day. It seems that regular warning of environment and health experts regarding adverse effect of pollution on human health and environment are not being able to check pollution. Air pollution is reaching at alarming levels in countries like China.
Researchers believe that the present study can help to taking necessary precautions in places that have diminishing air quality, unhealthy levels of ozone and particle pollution. The required precautions will help in restricting cases of laryngitis and chronic laryngitis in particular.
