OSCE: Russia has begun withdrawal from Georgia
Helsinki - The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has received information that Russian forces have begun to withdraw from Georgia, Finnish Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb said Friday.
Stubb, who returned Friday to Finland after a brief visit to Georgia, said "yesterday it looked bad but now it looks better," Finnish news agency STT reported.
Finland currently holds the chair of OSCE. The organization was slated to deploy more military observers in Georgia and near the breakaway region of South Ossetia.
Stubb said more OSCE military observers were heading for the region over the weekend, adding that he hoped some would be able to deploy in South Ossetia. (dpa)
