Petition before Islamabad HC for putting Musharraf’s name on Exit Control List
Islamabad, Aug 19 : A human rights body in Pakistan has reportedly filed a petition before the Islamabad High Court demanding that the name of former President Pervez Musharraf must be put on the exit control list (ECL) to prevent him from flying abroad to lead an exiled life and avoid being prosecuted.
Defence of Human Rights organization Chairman Khalid Khawja filed the petition for inclusion of Musharraf’s name on ECL today, reported The News.
The petition alleged that Musharraf was involved in the killing of many people and Red Mosque operation. Former president should be stopped from going abroad, it said.
While the petition was being filed, families of missing persons and affected people of Lal Masjid operation were gathered outside the federal high court. They changed anti-Musharraf slogans. (ANI)
